Data sources & credits
Cemetery names, addresses and locations on this site come from The National Map, produced by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
- Cemeteries: USGS The National Map, Structures dataset, Cemeteries layer (map service).
- Town and county boundaries: USGS The National Map, Governmental Units dataset, Minor Civil Divisions and Counties (map service). We use these boundaries to place each cemetery in the town where it is actually located, which can differ from its mailing address. Population figures come from the same dataset.
- Connecticut historic counties: U.S. Census Bureau, 2020 Gazetteer Files. Connecticut has had no county government since 1960, and since 2022 federal data uses nine planning regions; we show the eight historic counties that genealogy records are filed under.

Accuracy
The source data is not complete. Small family burial grounds, unmarked graves and recently created cemeteries may be missing. Locations may be approximate, and in a few cases the same cemetery may be listed under a different name. We merge obvious duplicates. Please confirm details with the town before you visit, and tell us about corrections.
